Fried Idli - Leftover Idli Recipe
Fried idlis can be served along with Coconut Chutney, Shezwan sauce, tomato ketchup, or even Sambar. You can be served as a breakfast meal or evening snack.
You can use refrigerated idlis as they have less tendency to break when frying and absorb less oil. You can also use fresh idlis, then you can refrigerate them before using them.
Ingredients -
- 5-6 Idlis
- 20-25 Curry Leaves
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Oil
Directions -
- Take the idlis(Fresh/Leftover)If you are using freshly made idlis, then you can refrigerate them for 30 mins before using.
- Cut the idlis into pieces.
- Heat mustard oil in a pan.
- Once hot add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
- Saute for 1 minute and add idli pieces.
- Saute on a high-low flame for 15-20 minutes until crisp and golden brown.
- Serve it with Coconut or Shezwan Sauce.
