Chilli Paneer with Sweetcorn Twist!
Chilli Paneer Recipe is a popular Indo Chinese dish which is quick to make. Chilli Paneer recipe can be great party food.
Ingredients
200 grams Paneer, cut in cubes
1/2 cup Capsicum, sliced
1/2 cup Spring Onion(or normal onions), chopped
1/2 cup sweetcorn
1 tsp Garlic, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger, finely chopped
2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tbsp Cornflour
1 tbsp Soy sauce
1 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
1 teaspoon Vinegar
1 tbsp Oil/Ghee
Salt, to taste
How to make Chilli Paneer?
- Mix cornflour with ¼ cup of water. Stir in the soya sauce, ketchup, chilli sauce and salt into the cornflour mixture.
- Heat oil in a wok or frying pan on high heat; add garlic, ginger, chilli powder, spring onions and stir fry for a few seconds. Add in the capsicum, sweetcorn and sauce on medium heat until tender.
- Stir in the cornflour mixture to the above and cook for a few minutes until the chilli sauce thickens.
- At this stage stir in the paneer cubes, turn the heat to high and saute for a few minutes until well combined with the sauce.
- Garnish the chilli paneer with spring onion leaves and extra green chillies if you like it spicy.
- Serve the Chilli Paneer along with Fried Rice or Hakka Noddles.
Note: I marinate paneer separately by adding chilli powder, salt and cornflour into paneer cubes. Then deep fry the marinated paneer and add to the prepared sauce.
